In conclusion I believe that although the North and South had different origins for their architectural styles, they shared styles more than not. After a period of a decade or so, styles common in the North would have made their way to the South, and vice versa. with the increasing commonality to have brick houses amongst the wealthy, and wooden houses across the east coast, along with the tendency to follow the Georgian order, or Greek revival it is clear that the U.S. acted as a mixing pot of architectural styles to create a truly unique ‘American’ building style.
